In what is sure to excite fans of Bungie’s MMO Destiny, Bungie has given the first official confirmation that Destiny 2 is in the works.
The sequel to Destiny has been rumored for some time, with a major leak in the last week, but this is the first official announcement by developers, Bungie.
The Destiny Twitter account simply tweeted an image with the title Destiny 2 on Monday – with no other details.
However, it only took 15 minutes for the tweet to be shared over 7,000 times and liked almost 10,000 times.

The original Destiny had garnered quite a large amount of hype in 2014 just before its release, but was then slammed by critics and players alike for a lack of content.
Listening to criticism from fans, the developers eventually rolled out improvements which have raised the game’s profile. The game has also seen various expansions released.
It waits to be seen what Destiny 2 will hold for players, but many have already agreed that they would rather Bungie take their time to release a finished product.
The release date for Destiny 2 is rumored to be September 8, according to Kotaku.
